RE: inconsistant hot water

I should add that the electric was 30amp and we were not using any AC, just a few lights.

inconsistant hot water

Took the 5th wheel out for a few days of camping at 4 mile state park near Niagara Falls NY this week. We found that at times we had just warm water from the electric hot water tank and other times the water was very hot as expected.
Before I start tearing things apart would you suspect a faulty thermostat or inconsistent voltage supply?
Thanks

RE: BEWARE! Ontario RVers!

Something is screwy here !!!
Never heard of such a thing and lived here all my tender 61 years.
Where do you live in Ontario?
Sounds like you may be in a small town that has Barney Fife as the town cop.

Inside Window Box Removal & Blind string

Can anyone help me with the removal of the window box that frames the inside windows??
The cord on the accordion blind broke and I can see how it is attached to the wall up under the window box but I cannot figure out how that box is attached to the wall. I can see other longer window boxes are attached by “L” brackets but the small ones are attached using some other method.
I have to remove the window box to get at the blind.
Also is it a simple job to replace that string on the day/night shades??
Where do you buy the string??
Many Thanks

RE: Prodigy and Ford Trucks HELP !!!

Thanks Little Bill & Castaic Lion .... Bill the dealer mentioned that he could hard wire it in directly but his position was that by the time I paid for him to wire this thing up I might jst as well go for a new controller.
Castaik Lion ... we suspected the trailer and the magnets so that is when we went to the trailer simulator - where we unpluged my trailer and he plugged in his trailer conection simulator - we had the same results as I had with my trailer plugged in.
Thanks Guys

Prodigy and Ford Trucks HELP !!!

On my way south today my 2 year old Prodigy started to flash N.C. and then C for a while then back to N.C. and so on. This was on my 2003 F250 Diesel
I stopped and checked the plug and all seemed fine.
I then went to a RV dealer who spent over 3 hours trying to fix it without success. I was working right along with him and he seemed to know what he was doing.
We tried a brand new unit – same results as mine, we tried a new wiring harness – same results as mine. Checked and rechecked all connections to make sure they were clean.
Tried with the trailer connected and then he tried with his simulator plugged in…. IE my trailer was not connected – his simulator was – same results. There is current to the rear plug and we checked the grounds. All seemed to be in order. All other lights work fine - breaks, signal etc.
The dealer said that he has had problems with Prodigy and Ford trucks and suggested that I take out the Prodigy and replace with another type of controller. I don’t think that he is just trying for a sale as he offered me the replacement controller installed for the amount of labor he already has in trying to fix the Prodigy. I get to keep the old Prodigy.
I have an appointment with him in the morning so I would like to have some feedback if anyone else has had problems with Prodigy and Ford trucks.
Thanks

Garmin Nuvi Screen - Any Problems ?

After doing some research on GPS's I decided that I want a Nuvi 750. (Mainly because you can plan your trip with Mapsource on the laptop and upload to the GPS unit. I was able to do this with the 2610)
The man at Best Buy said that he would HIGHLY recommend that I purchase the warranty plan because they have had several Nuvi's returned owing to screen problems - namely the screens are quitting. My old 2610 has had problems but never with the screen.
This is news to me, and was wondering if anyone else has had problems or is this guy just trying to up sell some warranty.

Motorcycle on the back of the 5th wheel

I have 29RL Laredo 5th wheel and would like to take the motorcycle with me when we travel. The bike is a Honda 550cc, weighs about 450 lbs.
I suspect that I would have to change the current bicycle hitch to a class III but do you think that it would be still too much weight back there or do you think the trailer could handle it.
Thanks

RE: RV Recliner's

I am going down the very same road with 28" between the slider and the rear wall. I have looked around quite a bit and have settled on the Lazy Boy Amity like DICKNELLEN purchased. Mainly because the backs of all LazyBoys slip off and when turned sideways you have plenty of room with some to spare.
Now my question to DICKNELLEN is where and when did you purchase at 2 for 599. as that is a good price and wouldn't mind a deal like that myself. The best I can seem to get id 550. each and then they want a extra 80 bucks for the swivil rocker to be installed.

Will Ya Look At This "Grrrrrrr"

GIVE ME A BREAK !!!! I looked under the trailer and this is what I found.
I would understand if the rig was a old junker but mine is 17 months old.
This happens to be Keystone product but I doubt there is a lot of difference between makes.
I do not use this in the winter but took it to Texas last winter and had a rough trip down with winter weather. But that was just one trip.
I repaired these holes with fiberglass matting and then spayed the panel inside and out with undercoating.
Sure hope it works.
I am VERY worried on how long my trailer is going to last.

RE: Ideas for organizing the basement....

Having all that extra space may be a bad thing as well as a good thing. Having all that room just means you collect more "STUFF"
One trick that has worked for me was to install cardboard (SONO)tubes on the ceiling of the basement. I have 2 8" and a couple of 4" strapped to the beams. In them I store my folding ladder, tripod, wash brush and umbrella as well as the cranks for the rear jacks and slide out.
In this way I have more space on the floor for******....Oh sorry STUFF

Slider seals treatment

Is there some treatment that I should be using on the slider seals to keep them soft and flexable??
I have not used my rig since last April and when I put out the slider this week it made some "VERY" strange noise comming from those seals.
Thanks

Broke a wheel stud Errrrrrrr!!!!!

Took a wheel off the trailer today and the nuts where rusted on there sooooo tight it took all I had to get them off and then they were too hot to handle. (the trailer is only 2 years old) Snapped one off in the process Errrrr.
So ..... when I put them back on should I just put a few drops of 10w30 on them or use something else like never freeze goop so I can get them off next time...... Many thanks
